Friends,
We trust that you are doing well. The writer of Hebrews tells his readers how Jesus responded to the joy that was set before him. Jesus endured the cross and he disregarded its shame. Why did Jesus do this? Jesus did this because of the joy that set before him. The implication is that the shame of the cross was not worth comparing to the joy that was set before him. Jesus then offered himself as an atoning sacrifice because of this joy.
As we prepare for the spring and all of its activities, we cannot help but think of the work that God is doing in our neighborhood. It is our privilege to participate in this work. It is truly a joy to participate in God’s redemptive work in the city of St. Louis.
Please pray with us.
Planning. Please pray that God will give us wisdom as we plan events to host and participate in this spring. Please pray that God would reveal his will in these events to us and that we would recognize it to act in accordance with it.
Boot Camp. We are going through Church Plant Boot Camp. We are using this time to re-align our small groups with the vision of Immanuel. We desire that our small groups would effectively be smaller extensions of Immanuel E-Free Church. Please pray that God would enable us to become little Immanuels in our neighborhoods.
Thank you for your continual prayers,
The People of Immanuel Evangelical Free Church
